Be Funky was created by Tekin Tatar and Kemal Ozisikcilar. They, along with other engineers and cartoonists, have created this really cool website where you can upload photos and quickly turn them into pieces of art! The picture above is a simple snapshot of my daughter. With just a few clicks, I turned it into this really cute sketch!
Ideas for classroom use:
1. Students could view and/or print the two photos (original and "funky"). They could create a Venn Diagram and compare the two photos.
2. Students could create a comic strip with multiple photos. They could save several images, arrange them into a story in PowerPoint or other program. They could then insert text boxes into ppt and create a script or story.
3. Simply upload your students' pictures into befunky and create fun cartoon photos for display at Open House or Curriculum Night.
4. Print or view funky pictures and then create Wordles to describe the photo.
5.. Art Teachers could use this site to discuss different styles of photos, colors, etc.
